I am a landscape nature photographer who sees the beauty of nature as iconic. My tools are my camera and my eyes. With these tools and my interst in nature I capture the serenity that appears on the surface of the land. Nature is anitmate and the cycles of life in our surroundings can be beautiful. In exploring places and creating images I strive to capture the beauty in all aspects of the land, whether it is a dead leaf or blooming flowers. When I am loooking for images to create I take paths that are not visible from the roadside and linger on encounters that I may have otherwise passed by.

I walk around on locations taking notes, watching wildlife and the changing of light, getting a feel for the environment that I am in. The natural light changes throughout the days, months and years creating a specific feeling of an environment. I create images that express what I am feeling when I am grounded in certain locations as well as focus on showing all of the elements with it's natural rhythm and beauty. I gain an understanding of how to capture the best light on a specific tree, lake, or petal. I capture the textures in the environment like the lines in tree bark or dew drops on a leaf, the veins of a fern or patterns that water have has left in the dirt. Using natural light to my advantage I can create images that reflect the vivid colors of the land.
